If you're wondering where I am

I am vacuuming. I am planting mums. I am mulching like the world's supply of mulch is almost gone. I am polishing the faucets. I am organizing the shit out of my house. My closets are spectacular. My kitchen cabinets would bring you to tears. Meanwhile, Scott is replacing the shutters and painting the trim and the radiators and all the scuffed corners of the house. Our house is looking increasingly spectacular by the day. Why didn't we do this before? Because we weren't selling our house before. That would be why.

More later about why and where we're going. Just know that I am thinking of you, as I fluff the towels and bleach the grout. Thinking of you, and wishing you had a tall ladder and a fervent desire to wash my windows.

Alice, we are so going to miss you in the 'hood. But I bet it's like another poster said, this two bit town wasn't big enough for both you and Looky Daddy! and he done ran you out of Dodge City. Damn him!

Emi and Victoria: Evanston is NOT the "only acceptable suburb of Chicago." La Grange rules! Why, we have The Pet Parade! (Thought I'd start a turf war while waiting for Alice to give us the lowdown.) Melissa wants to move, too....where's everybody headed?

If you move near me, just know that I am the number 1 best babysitter in the entire world.

I hope you are moving back to Brooklyn. And am I supposed to be mulching?

@CJ: La Grange is very nice, but we have the lake. Also we are not Lyons-adjacent. Plus no freight trains. I lived in Berwyn for three years, and believe you me, I appreciated La Grange PLENTY.

Come on, Alice. You know you want to move here. We'll do a John Hughes tour. And then have lunch in the booth at the restaurant in "Ordinary People," and I'll even let you sit on the Tim Hutton side. What more do I need to offer?

Ah, do I know where you are coming from! We are in the exact same place - although it sounds like you are about three weeks ahead of where we are.

I wish the best to you as you try to sell in this lovely market! I definitely understand that position and will hope for smooth sailing for us both!

Wow. Maybe that would get me to organize my desk? Good luck!

In my opinion there is nothing worse then having to keep your house looking and smelling like a furniture store while it's up for sale. It's like a nightmare that never stops...and I sell real estate...

Good luck and hope you sell and close quickly..
