Me: I'm being hurtled down a hill and people are running away! I was inches away from head trauma! I do not understand winter sports.
Mom: As your father says about skiing: you put two sticks on your feet and throw your face in the snow.
Me: Oh, I won't ski. No.
Mom: I think that's for the best.

We're in Maplewood and the hill in Memorial Park (again, if you're familiar) is JUST STEEP ENOUGH, thankyouverymuch! And I'm not even sledding. Just stressing about the kids getting killed!

If you think sledding is fun - you should try tubing! It's especially great when you have had a few drinks first! My brother and I went tubing all the time because we are Canadian. Winters in Canada are very very long and we had nothing else to do. Tubes slide down the hill at the speed of light. :)

ha funny. I loved sledding growing up. and I even like tubing as an adult. and snow mobiling but I live in utah (now) and have never skied. I'm all "why in the world would I strap myself to two small sticks of wood that make me hurtle down a slippery slope at high rates of speed toward stationary objects and people in a way that I will then either a/ die or b/ have a broken item that will make me lay in bed for weeks regretting that stupidity"
