Home at last

Friends, our move is complete. We are mostly unpacked.

Exhausted

And Charlie the Dog is exhausted.

But oh! We love our new place! It's everything we wanted. Henry has declared that he wants to live here for the rest of his life. I'm not going to hold him to that, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Right now Henry is home sick with a swollen eye and a sore throat, listening to a "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" audiobook on my computer. Typing while listening to his audiobook with him is more challenging than it sounds. Turns out I can't listen and think at the same time. I'd give him my headphones, but I can't find my headphones. I'm sure they're around here somewhere. And at some point I will get up to look for them.

I love your new place, welcome home!! I am always torn between the art, color, and texture that I love, and the need for the calm, monotone space my mind needs.

Congratulations to your smooth moving. I hope you will have a wonderful time in your new place. Charlie looks really exhausted. Well, God bless your new home.

Congratulations for the move! What a relief!! My own little Henry is at home and ill as well. Sore throat and red goopy eyes...poor little Henry's.

Congrats!!! So sorry Henry is sick!! My son LOVES the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books. He's eagerly awaiting the purchase of the newest. *note to self check to see if it's released I think it was supposed to be released about now*

Thank goodness. Out of the old, into the new. I feel as relieved as if I'd moved myself. Though of course vicarious moving is much, much less exhausting (for me).

Enjoy! Neighbors suck. That's why I bought myself an island.

Yay! Yellow! We have a bedroom that I like to call the Velveeta room, for obvious reasons.

I'm glad you got out of that hell hole. Best of luck in the new digs.

Lucy, are you serious? An island would be fabulous. Not that I'm in any need for extra privacy (I'm on 80 acres abutting 1000 acres of conservation land), but being surrounded by ocean might be even better than being surrounded by forest.

I'll bet Charlie sniffed every last inch of the place before collapsing on that floor! Congrats on the new place. And why did I never think to look for "Wimpy Kid" on audio book before?

please tell us the wall color! my son wants his room yellow for our new house and i have not seen a shade that i love until this one....
June 3, 2010 | Unregistered Commentersayfoo
Sayfoo, the color is "Yellow Highlighter," by Benjamin Moore. I must say, I was a skeptic, but it's really nice in a kid's room.

yippee! thanks, A!

I had no idea you had an electric dog. Does he have a battery pack for walks? Because that cord doesn't look terribly long.

I always just want to give Charlie big hugs. He is the sweetness!
