Hair update: the end!
This is the entirely natural color. There is no more artificial color in there.
It's entirely too short right this moment--I don't think the shorty-short bangs do much for my narrow face (I' m not fishing for compliments, here)--but within a couple of weeks I'll feel significantly less exposed. I'm so used to super-short hair that I don't stress too much over that naked-head sensation.
I want to grow my hair down to about shoulder-length now that I don't have to worry about hiding tell-tale roots and the like, but I actually love the color. It feels like me. Which it is. I am me!
Also I coordinate well with Charlie, now, and I think that's the most important thing, don't you?

I love it!
And I imagine that I have about the same percentage of gray going on, but as a long-haired person I can't bring myself to quit my dye habit.
I love it Alice - looks great on you! As you know I am partial to short hair so I say keep it that way - you are rocking the look!
I think it looks awesome. Seriously, you are a lucky woman. I will probably look like a frog when I gray.
Looking good, kiddo.
So pretty!
You look great! You should totally start carrying the dog around, in lieu of a bag. Also, loving the Redbook blog. Great writing!
it really brings out your absolutely gorgeous eyes.
Yowzaa! I love it, Alice. I know what you mean about the short short though - mine is finally starting to grow out more and I'm so happy to not feel so nekkid! :)
Indeed, how dare you navel-gaze and talk about yourself on your very own blog! Simply by not listing for LindaR what altruistic things you may or may be doing that she doesn't know about and that have not has been officially sanctioned by her, you have enraged the gods and they are right now smiting fluffy bunnies with their huge, goddy fists.
All. Your. Fault.
Love love love it. Hope my hair greys in a similarly cool way when it does grey. You look amazing.
Now, that's the way to go gray ... all evenly distributed. I just a shock at on temple.
But, where's the cat? We have not seen the cat for far too long. I think you would now complement each other.
Franca: next time, the cat. Promise.
Barbara: I saved an orphan just because you wrote that. Only for that reason, though. And JUST ONE.
I LOVE it! If my hair would be that cool-looking, I would totally go grey.
It looks awesome--not the random crappy crap gray, but all over and pretty.
Your hair looks awesome! I'm loving my gray - so glad the have another sister going natural!
Looks gorgeous!
You look beautiful.
@BeingSuper
It looks fabulous, Alice! I LOVE it! And here I am contemplating coloring my hair for the first time in about 5 years to cover the grey.
I think it looks wonderful! Gray looks beautiful on certain people and you are one of them! Hooray for natural!
Beautiful! You look so much like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music! Now I want to twirl around in a meadow while singing... doe a deer, a female deer....
Oh wow, you look so much like Jamie Lee Curtis and Julie Andrews has a beautiful love child. Finslippy Has Two Mommies would be a great book title, by the way.
I love it - and I love the short cut. I have the same issue though - I keep thinking I'd like to grow mine long again. So I go short, then let it grow, then get sick of it and chop it off!
I love your hair!!! Just found my first few gray hairs a few months ago, and after the initial freakout was over it seemed like I saw many beautiful and even sexy women with partially gray or entirely gray hair. I'm now super excited to have a full head of gray hair. Hooray for Gray!
Love the way the natural color turned out. I'm six months into transitioning from dyed hair to my natural color. I'm not brave enough to go super short, so it's taking a lot longer. After the first couple of months I think you just get used to looking at the multiple colors. There's a great website with all sorts of information about transistioning to gray for those who are toying with the idea: http://www.goinggraylookinggreat.com/
Beautiful! Paradoxically, you look so young now that you're gray. How wonderful!
