My last post from Brooklyn, maybe. Or, hell, maybe not.

We are moving in six days. Coincidentally, I’m dying. It’s nothing serious, just some all-over body pain and nausea and a stabby stabbiness behind my eyes and also my heart is leaping and tripping about in my chest. That kind of thing.

As you can imagine, or understand, or if not understand at least believe, posting will be light here for the next couple of weeks. We didn’t even get our cable set up yet, is how organized we are. And kids, Mommy does not do dial-up.

Hi finslippy, I've never commented before on your blog, but we just moved two months ago and my brain was running circles in the living room, as you so ably described, so much that I could hardly stand myself, much less entertain the Internet. But we're settled in now and it's wonderful. I got through most of it with alarming amounts of caffinated beverages and thoughts of the sunny eating area in the kitchen that overlooks the back patio of the new house. The new patio where the kids could play while I read my book in the sunny eating area. Thoughts like these helped immensely...

During times like these, I like to triple my anti-depressant dosage.

It's a good time of year to move. Warm weather and fresh breezes from open windows while unpacking makes everything better.

Best of luck to you in Joisy. We'll all be thinking of you.

You have a laptop, no? No doubt there is a Starbucks in the 'burbs with free wifi. Otherwise, there are libraries and internet cafes (or so I hear) where one might be able to post to her blog from if the cable is not yet set up.

Because what is REALLY important is keeping all of your loyal readers continually entertained... not actually MOVING one's entire household and having to re-set it up again. Just so you have your priorities straight :)

Seriously, best of luck. One word of advice from someone who moved 3 months ago. DO NOT let your husband/ MIL pack anything if you can at all help it.

Another lurker who just moved myself -- all I can say is good luck. It's so tough, especially when you love where you live now. My advice is probably the opposite of a lot of people - unpack day and night until you get it all done. Then, you can have your life back. It's such a pain to not be able to find anything and I hated having unpacking hanging over my head. I wasn't real sweet on no sleep, but I got done fast so we could get back to normal.

Enjoy exploring somewhere new. Even if it's the 'burbs, it's fun discovering your new homebase.

Getting the hookups and connections is no fun . . . the waiting, waiting, waiting. Here's hoping you're first on every schedule for every company that will help you rejoin the connected world.

Good luck! The thought of moving makes me want to tear out my eyeballs. But you'll be fine.

Can't wait to read some funny (because it didn't happen to me) story of your moving adventure(s)!

Did I say good luck? Good luck!

Good luck with the move! I'm sure we'll all be here when you recover from the stabby stabbiness and settle into the new hood. Having made a similar move I have to say not stepping gingerly around used hypodermic needles or having people deficate behind the house in the alley are BIG perks.

Maybe you're having one of them there fake heart-attacks like Jenn from Breed 'em and Weep had. Did you read that post on her blog? It had me ROLLING. Sounds like you need a good laugh... a fake heart attack post might just be the ticket.

Good luck with the move, and dial up? {shudder}
