« I'm almost back. | Main | People get older! And other news. »

The pause that refreshes.

All has not been sweetness and light here in the Finslippy household, and I must take some time away to regroup. So you all just sit out here and play with your blocks, and Mommy will be in the back, drinking a Manhattan in one of your sippy cups.

Thank you, in advance, for your patience and understanding.

i am tempted to say "i hope everything is okay", but in truth, i'm guessing that from this post it is not. so, instead i send you well wishes and happy thoughts.

There's no better way to enjoy a Manhattan in Brooklyn. Sippy cup indeed. I hope you find the space (internal and external) that you need to get where you're going.

Sending thoughts of sweetness and light your way, Alice, though lord knows I can hardly identify those foreign concepts myself, nowadays. Will miss you while you're gone and hope the break brings you what you need.

I can relate, unfortunately.

I hope the pause brings lighter, refreshing things.

The only thing worse than being Finslippy is missing Finslippy. I hope that your pause brings whatever you need most.

I wish I had something witty, but coming at the end of a day in which I had to explain to one child why he could not use a knife on his toddler sister, I have nothing. Not that I couldn't relate to the kid lately, I mean, that toddler is more work than the other three put together, and that's saying something. It just isn't the sort of thing one should really have to explain to a nine year old...

You've made me laugh so hard that I've actually awoken people in several different houses around 2am on seperate occasions, no less. Sadly, there seems to be an unusual amount of deep and pernicious crap flying around these days--maybe it's riding in on the hurricanes. So I'm offering my remaining iota of psychic cheer, and hoping to read you again soon. You rock. Good luck.

Okay. Are you done now? Just kidding.

I was thinking yesterday about the television show "Survivor" and I began fantisizing about how cool it would be if I could vote people off my island.

Just a random thought to give you something ELSE to think over.

Good luck and take care.
